In February, 2016, Bloomberg Government released its rankings of the top performing federal lobbying firms in Washington, D.C. for 2015. According to the rankings, there are about 1500 registered firms. Of those, Bloomberg ranked only the 205 firms that had over $1,000,000 in revenue for the year.
The rankings are based on four objective criteria that Bloomberg obtains from public lobbying reports: overall revenue growth, average revenue growth per client, client retention, and revenue per lobbyist. Only 25 of the 205 ranked firms met the criteria to be considered top performing firms under Bloomberg’s methodology. To the best of our knowledge, we are the only one-lobbyist firm to make it to the top 25.
Bloomberg ranked us number one on the client retention criterion, a strong indication of our clients’ satisfaction with our work. We were also ranked number three in overall performance. We received similar rankings on Bloomberg’s quarterly rankings for the 2nd and 3rd quarters of 2015. As the report put it, “The success of the one-man shop run by Joseph Gibson shows that you don’t have to be big to be effective.”
